They arrive home from work too tired to do anything productive and go into a vegetative state in front of the idiot box. They eat in front of it, host guests in front of it, pacify their children in front of it, and go to bed in front it. Then they go to work tired and drained -- rinse, repeat. They'll drain their energy on American Idol, lap up state propaganda on CNN, ascribe to moral values espoused by Oprah and Dr Phil, and buy 4WD's to get around in the suburbs.
