i used to attend Australian International Academy until last year. The amount of Islam within it is viewed subjectively.

i attend king khalid islamic college, and can tell you that it has not changed its name because it does not want to be associated with Islam or any such, rather, it has opened a sister school in Dubai, where it is illegal to have any religous reference in ANY names of school.

Hence, we had to change our school's name as well. Contrary to your belief, the principal of our school actually informed us of this change and assured everyone who was there that our school still maintains its view of an academic institution within an Islamic environment.

Moreover, our school still teaches Quranic studies, Islamic Studies, holds Zuhr and Asr prayer, and has an Imam. Im doing VCE and i still attend Islamic Studies classes, even though i am doing no such subject according to my VCE form.

Hope Ive made everything clear. :)

No, it does not. King Khalid Islamic College changed it's name to Australian International Academy of Education or something. See http://www.kkicv.vic.edu.au/

I have no experience of this institution, but it obviously must be very religious place, as it clearly has "Islamic" in its title.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, they are most welcome !

I've had a little bit to do with King Khalid Islamic College in Melbourne (I believe it has recently undergone a name change) and I've been impressed with the worldliness of its students. Most seem to have a fairly good grasp of life beyond their own small patch and are comfortable relating to others in a secular context as well as (I presume) a religious context.
