as-salaamu 'alaikum, As I have said already, 'there are not many sources on Muslims that I trust' this review shows one of the reasons why. It seems that people think they can just decide one day that Muslims are interesting; peculiar even, then travel to the Middle East spend a few weeks and come back to the West souped up on an idea to publish a book on Muslims or Arabs or Pukhtun, etc. (written as an authority on the subject!). This is the reason I started my own bookstore (Hakim's Bookstore)... with hand picked selections (a shameless plug), mostly of authors I have met, attended a lecture or read before.

What an awesome review. So thorough! It’s just typical of the climate these days, where anyone who has anything to say about Islam/Muslims/Arabs, especially if it’s not particularly positive, can make a name for tehmselves. And there’s no doubt people are interetsed in this stuff.

Anyway, well done Amal, hopefully some magazine will pick it up and publish it!
