The first episode got mixed reviews but what about the second? The video is over the fold.

LoL, I think the second one is going to get hammered.

To be honest, I’d rather watch teletubbies.

It shows that they are not ready to take challenge to Fox News, 700 Club, or people like Robert Spencer.

Gess: I do not think they are aiming to compete with what you listed to begin with.

Watching the first episode it seemed like they were aiming more for an intelligent type of comedy. The second episode did not carry as much quality, especially in the jokes. I laughed a lot less in the second episode.

But I would agree with the person that commented saying it does not really have a future. Also clearly the target audience does not seem to be the Islamic community.

I compared the first episode to Seinfeld’s take on “shows about nothing” though the second one seemed more like Friends though still better then Neighbors I guess. lol

Though Fatimah is still my favourite character. Her cleaver comment was the funniest part in this episode.

“Watching the first episode it seemed like they were aiming more for an intelligent type of comedy. The second episode did not carry as much quality, especially in the jokes.”

Perhaps for this episode the producers and CBC assumed the audience less intelligent than that of teletubbies? It was ridiculous, from the misappropriate sitar to the unseemly tug-o-war between the Baber character and the Rayyan character. My advice – even if unwanted – is that they need to take this script back to the boardroom.

The first episode was trite and boring. After watching it, I felt like I had just taken part in something I should be ashamed of. The upside, I thought, was that things could only improve having started from such a disgracefully low position. If, given an infinite number of monkeys and an infininte amount of time, a team of monkeys banging on typewriters could eventually produce the collected works of William Shakespear, a team of comedic Canadian monkeys would, sooner or later, manage to bang out a joke that elicited something more than an uncomfortable squirm from the viewing public.

The second episode proves that I was wrong in my optimism. They have managed to beat even the first episode in the banality stakes, bringing to the screen a program so mind-numbingly inane that I could feel my IQ dropping off like numbers on an intellectual geiger counter. Apparently, the producers think that dumping on religion is a great substitute for comedy or artistic talent. If they can just become controversial enough and provoke a severe enough reaction in the bowels of their Muslim viewers, they might be able to somehow parlay that controversy into a ratings boost and claw through the first season unscathed by the studio’s axe.

This episode was really bad. Too much unrealistic controversy, and too much western feminism, which you never see in mosques…

A total disappointment…

Oh dear God.

I agree with Australian.

What I find is that whenever some hardcore feminist goes off on the barrier it tends to be the sisters that silence her.

I think the 3rd episode comes out in the next couple of days. See how that goes.
