Islam puts man and woman on the same scale n both worldly n relegious affaris. the Salvery thing that ur talking about in not in islam but if look into ancient Roman law,woman was based on complete denial of civic rights, and on requiring her to be constantly under the tutelage of a guardian,No FREEDOM watsoever she wished,In general she could be inherited but she had no inheritance.

This is the operative part of the potential disaster. Islamic culture can never accept the secular system. It will not countenance:

Also, you didn’t mention what he said after that line and that was that he denounced al-Qaeda, terrorism, killing, violence, etc. There is nothing in that interview you cited that leads to the conclusion that he is dangerous.

Anyway the sheikh is constantly travelling in and out of the UK and Canada for conferences and has never had any trouble or issues over many years.

Bottom line is that it is all a beat up.
