Thank you so much for posting this, Baybers. I am always fascinated by this kind of story. It would be amazing to see what other stories could be uncovered in other areas of the US.
there are several features of this that are worth comment and reflection
1. Immigrant Muslims need to ditch the political baggage that they place with “Islam” if we are sincere about Dawah in the west. When I see Muslims in the UK and here applaud anti-establishment demagogues, I see it as a victory of the nafs of Muslims over their Iman.
2. We need to understand that the future of Islam in the West will not be the pork barrel consuming govt funded munafiq, or the shameless self-promoter, or the religiously crippled half Muslim, it will be those people who are conspicuously sincere in practice and educated in deen. All of these other type of people will not be Muslims in one generation.
3.I’m not sure why some Muslims believe it is part of their religion to hate America
