The so-called Ron Paul Money Bomb has exploded yet again with the great Ron Paul, libertarian candidate for the GOP nomination, raising a remarkable USD$4.5 million in one day of fundraising. On the internet.
Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, an anti-war libertarian who has clashed with his rivals over Iraq, raised a record $4.5 million in a one-day Internet fund-raising event on Sunday, his campaign said in a statement.
Paul’s campaign said the Texas congressman had received more than 41,000 donations by early evening, shattering a $4.2 million record in a 24-hour period last month.
More analysis here.
And as for why I think Ron Paul is so good, here’s a recent interview with the 20/20 program in which Ron Paul summarises his foreign policy views:

Islam antagonist Robert Spencer has used this interview as a chance to attack Rep. Ron Paul as not understanding “the nature and the magnitude of the [Islamic] threat.” Apparently if one is not spouting rhetoric about the “existential threat” of “Islamofascism” and advocating the bombing of Mecca or attacking Iran than one simply doesn’t “get it” or worse, is a “dhimmi” (i.e. an useful idiot of “Islamofascism”).
Joining in the fray, we also find the militant neo-conservative Bill Kristol attacking Rep. Ron as being a “crackpot” and yes, “anti-American” for his failure to endorse unending war against the Muslim world and for his rejection of big government (which is happily embraced by “conservatives” like Kristol). We thus understand from all of this, that if you don’t believe in the Islamic bogyman bent on global conquest, or an advocate of ruthless American hegemony, or a defender of big government against the individual you either are an idiot or a malicious, though perhaps crazy, anti-American fanatic.
Dr. Ron Paul has a great voting record on behalf of the people of this world. If his votes would have been achieved, countless thousands of Muslim–and Christian–lives would have been saved. He is the only congressman who voted against the Patriot Act and the Iraq War. Dr. Paul speaks out against the needless deaths of the people of Islam and the American servicepeople.
Dr. Paul knows the global game and he is patently against it. He has proven this by his record. As the author of a number of books sold by Astrolabe I can tell categorically that this traditional non-voter is voting for Ron Paul. Regarding Obama, he is heavily connected with the Counsel of Foreign Relations, which is headed by the arch-Zionist David Rockefeller. Here, in a speech Paul made it clear that he would continue to attack Muslim countries. He has sold his soul to those special interests who attack and undermine all that is good and decent. How anyone knowledgeable Muslim, especially a Muslim organization, could support him is unfathomable.
This never-before voter is convinced: Dr. Paul and his lovely wife are sweet, decent people. This is enough for me to cast my vote and to encourage all others to do so.
God’s blessings….
As a rule of thumb, anytime I read someone talking about ‘the war against Muslims’ or ‘the war against the Muslim world’ I disregard them as silly or biased. By no reckoming can you call the invasion (one legal, one not)of two out of 57 countries a war against a particular religion. Victimology rules.
