“Michael Weiner has a radio show,” writes Ars Technica. “For obvious reasons, he has chosen to do the show under the name Michael Savage instead, and ‘The Savage Nation’ attracts a few million listeners per week. They listen, in part, to hear Savage rant on conservative topics.”
And on the 29th October, 2007, Michael Savage (more on him here) delivered a remarkable rant about Muslims in America. For example, he says (amongst many, many other things):
I’m not gonna put my wife in a hijab. And I’m not gonna put my daughter in a burqa. And I’m not gettin on my all-fours and braying to Mecca. And you could drop dead if you don’t like it. You can shove it up your pipe. I don’t wanna hear anymore about Islam. I don’t wanna hear one more word about Islam. Take your religion and shove it up your behind. I’m sick of you.
What kind of religion is this? What kind of world are you living in when you let them in here with that throwback document in their hand, which is a book of hate. Don’t tell me I need reeducation. They need deportation. I don’t need reeducation. Deportation, not reeducation. You can take C-A-I-R and throw ‘em out of my country. I’d raise the American flag and I’d get out my trumpet if you did it. Without due process. You can take your due process and shove it.
What sane nation that worships the U.S. constitution, which is the greatest document of freedom ever written, would bring in people who worship a book that tells them the exact opposite. Make no mistake about it, the Quran is not a document of freedom. The Quran is a document of slavery and chattel. It teaches you that you are a slave.
Hearing is believing though and CAIR have helpfully recorded this amazing rant and posted it here for your listening displeasure. Amongst his claims are that 90% of American Muslims are on welfare and there are “sutrahs” (yes, he repeatedly calls them sutrahs as in the Karma Sutra rather than the correct term, surah) in the Qu’ran that say if you see a stranger who is not a Muslim, you must convert him or kill him.
So what does Savage do after realising his charming monologue has appeared online?
The glass-jawed shock jock instructs his lawyers to sue CAIR for copyright infringement, demanding that they remove his rant from the internet. And, somewhat amusingly, Weiner is also whining that he was taken out of context. As Ars Technica explain:
Savage isn’t just upset about copyright; in fact, he complains at one point that his remarks were taken out of context and that many other selections (i.e., more copying) from his show would indicate his regard for Muslims. Savage is upset that CAIR used the clip to convince some advertisers to pull their support for his show, a practice he seems to think is illegal.
He also makes a racketeering claim against the group and says that “the role of CAIR and CAIR-Canada is to wage PSYOPS (psychological warfare) and disinformation activities on behalf of Whabbi-based [sic] Islamic terrorists throughout North America. They are the intellectual ’shock troops’ of Islamic terrorism.”
The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) have now got involved and have assisted CAIR in filing a motion [pdf] for his lawsuit to be thrown out of court.

Savages’ lawyer was not “instructed” his lawyer is world famous and feels there is a case and with the expanded RICO they have an even better chance of winning. You can’t usurp 4 minutes and use it against the originator out of context. CAIR appears to be a front for other then what it appears to be on the surface. It is good it will all be revealed in a court of law. I was a card carrying ACLU member for many years but I started listening to Savage the last year or two. Aside from his gruff NY voice, he happen in my opinion to be correct on pretty much all matters he discusses. Actually take the time to listen to him for a month or so. He tells it like it is. He has said many favorable things about Muslims, check his web site. He is against Islamofascism because in his opinion, he is brave enough to state that it is incompatible with the US Constitution. But he certainly is not against all Muslims. Cair painted him that way and it was wrong to do so, and thus likely they will lose in court.
Fair Use, buddy. He hasn’t got a leg to stand on, just like when Akon tried to sue Michelle Malkin, so don’t be so sure he’s win in court. He’s a nut who sounds like he’s about to self-destruct anyway with his this 90% of Muslims on welfare jive and the sky is falling down because they all want to kill us.
By the way, here is my favourite Savage quote. Gold. Pure gold!
So, in the interests of objective journalism etc, how about investigating his claim that he isn’t anti-Muslim and that the rest of that show proves it?
You know the old tagline for the movie Alien? “In space, no one can hear you scream.”
On the Internet, no one can hear everyone else laughing (when they make ridiculous statements like those of Ned’s).
Seriously, even Ann Coulter would be embarrassed by that rant. Not Debbie Schlussel maybe, but Ann Coulter for sure.
The “speak out at the supermarket” part is just bizarre.
Oh come on, everyone knows that the checkout at Woolies is a hotbed of jihadi activity.
Michael Weiner is a kook. Cenk Uygur of the “Young Turks” has the goods on Mr. “Savage” and it is not in least bit pretty.

Amir, is there any chance you can ban antish on grounds of stupidity? Just a thought.
Antish I have investigated it and he’s anti-muslim.
Austrolabe on Michael Savage and his hatred of Islam.
Islam and the west accelerated links
Michael “Savage” Weiner is a xenophobic crank and closest homosexual. We should all keep in mind that this is the same man who used to go skinny-dipping with the beatnik poet Allen Ginsberg and peddled phony herbal remedies.
Not that there’s anything wrong with skinny-dipping with beat poets.
What a weiner.
To Ned Allen up there, what kind of context could make that anything more than xenophobic, Islamophobic drivel?
Savage is a total wanker
